1. Students will be able to locate Brazil, India, Russia, and Ethiopia on a map and to name the continent that each is on.
2. Students will identify at least four basic human needs that reflect common values. 3. Students will describe themselves (their own identities) and see connections between themselves and others (others’ identities), thus gaining interpersonal skills. 4. Students will discuss the meaning of their names and the importance of names, thereby deepening their understanding of common values. 5. Students will make comparisons between two things that may initially seem unfamiliar and different, thereby developing perspective-taking skills. 6. Students will write their own poetry and make visual art that they then share with children in other parts of the world. |
